Nokia Morph

nokia-morph-concept-nano-materialsAgain somewhat old news, but I stumbled across the Nokia Morph concept phone – a phone that can be bent, folded, chance color, is self-cleaning, sensing and recharges in the sun. All thanks to nanotechnology, as Nokia will use in this way.

In cooperation with the Institute for Nanoscience at Cambridge University in England presented Nokia in February 2008 “Morph” at the exhibition “Design and the Elastic Mind” at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA).

The idea is that using nanotechnology phones can be build with flexible features that can be shaped depending on the situation. A small phone that fits in the pocket. Large screen space for video or navigation by unfolding the phone a few times. Are you on the go, just fold it together so it becomes quite narrow, and bend it around your wrist like a bracelet, while a headset keeps you in touch with the outside world.

Nokia expects to introduce some parts of the nano technology in their phones in 6 to 7 years. Watch their computer generated video presentation.
